After the recent rescue of a group of skiers and snowboarders lost in the fog, three Danish holiday-makers were rescued last night after venturing off-piste into dangerous terrain.

The three skiers were winched off a rocky cliff to safety by a rescue helicopter

The three skiers on a student holiday in Peisey-Nancroix opted for an off-piste route back to their accommodation from the top of Arc 2000 - however late in the afternoon they signalled for help as they had landed themselves in a steep rocky face and were not able to ski out.
One skier had grabbed hold of a tree to avoid sliding any further whilst another had found refuge on a grassy patch but the third skier had gone far enough down that he was on a 50° rock face.
