Les Arcs is made up of four modern, purpose-built resorts: Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950 and Arc 2000, all of them connected with frequent shuttle buses in the winter. There are also regular funicular and bus links with the nearest large town, Bourg Saint Maurice.

Airport Bus Services to Bourg Saint Maurice

The closest bus station to Les Arcs is in Bourg Saint Maurice, the town at the bottom of the mountain, which is also where you'll arrive if you're coming by train. Bus services stop at Bourg Saint Maurice, from where you can get the funicular or a shuttle bus to your final Les Arcs village destination (see above).

Buses from Chambery airport to Bourg Saint Maurice operate twice a day on Saturdays and once on Sundays during the ski season. It takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes to get to Bourg Saint Maurice from Chambery airport by bus.

Buses from Lyon airport to Bourg Saint Maurice run on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the ski season and take around 3 hours to get here. They operate once a day on Fridays, four times on Saturdays and once on Sundays. 

Buses from Geneva airport to Bourg Saint Maurice operate every day of the week in winter with eight buses on Saturdays, one on Sundays and three on all the other days of the week. This route also takes around 3 hours.

Buses from Grenoble airport to Bourg Saint Maurice operate several per day on Saturdays and once on Sunday morning in winter. They take around 3 hours and 15 minutes to get to Bourg Saint Maurice.

Les Arcs local buses

There are free shuttle buses connecting Arc 1600, 1800, 1950 and 2000. They run every day from 07:00 to 21:25, with night buses until 22:00 on Saturdays.

Peisey-Vallandry Local Shuttle Buses

Plan Peisey and Vallandry are serviced by a free shuttle bus service which runs every 30 minutes from around 08:30 to around 23:30. There are also free bus services from Peisey-Vallandry to the cross-country ski area at Nancroix.

Landry train station is connected to Peisey-Vallandry via daily buses. You'll need to pay for this service – €14 for a return ticket and €8 for a single one which can be bought at the train station or the tourist office. This service starts at around 08:00 until around 18:15 with increased frequencies on Saturdays.

Bourg Saint Maurice to Les Arcs buses

The mainline train station for Les Arcs is in Bourg St Maurice and there is a funicular railway which goes all the way up to Arc 1600, taking only 7 minutes to reach the ski area. The funicular runs every 20 minutes during the winter, starting at around 07:30 until 20:00, or 21:00 on Saturdays. In the summer, the funicular runs every 30 minutes from 08:30 to 19:30.

It costs around €14 for a return journey for adults or around €11 euros for a child return ticket. If you already have your ski passes you can travel for free. The funicular is also free for all children under the age of 5 accompanied by an adult. On Saturdays, shuttle buses connect the train station and the funicular, running every 30 minutes.

On Saturdays, there are also bus services from the bus station to all the Les Arcs villages running from Bourg Saint Maurice from 07:15 to 18:05. They cost around €24 for adult or around €22 for a child's return ticket. You can buy tickets on the bus.
