Les Arcs is settling into a classic late March rhythm, with long bright days and a solid base still holding across the mountain. The higher slopes are retaining a more wintry feel first thing, while the lower villages are starting to take on that softer spring atmosphere by the afternoon. It feels like a good time to be here, with quieter pistes and plenty of space to explore.
Snow depths are currently around 60 to 90 cm at resort level across Arc 1600 and 1800, increasing to 170 to 230 cm on the upper slopes above 2500 metres, with the best coverage towards the Aiguille Rouge sector. There has been very little fresh snowfall recently, with only light flurries at altitude over the past week that have not significantly changed the base.
Temperatures have been sitting between minus 7 and minus 2 degrees on the upper mountain, and between plus 3 and plus 10 degrees in resort during the day. The freezing level has generally been between 2300 and 2600 metres, dropping overnight which is helping to reset the snow surface. Winds have remained light to moderate, with occasional exposure higher up but no major disruption.
Skiing conditions are best above 2000 metres where the snow remains firm through the morning before softening nicely into the afternoon. Higher runs off Aiguille Rouge are still holding consistent snow for longer periods. Lower slopes, especially those facing south, are softening quickly and becoming heavier later in the day, so timing is important.
The forecast for the coming days is largely settled with good spells of sunshine and mild temperatures continuing. There is a small chance of light snowfall on the highest peaks midweek, though any accumulation is expected to be limited. Overnight refreezing should continue to support good morning conditions, particularly at higher elevations.
Les Arcs is hosting a range of spring events across the villages, including outdoor après sessions, live music and seasonal activities aimed at families and groups. The quieter period between peak holiday weeks means lift queues are minimal, making it a good time to cover more ground across the Paradiski area.
Weather outlook as of: 23 March 2026. As I am sure you are aware, accurately forecasting weather more than two or three days ahead in the mountains is notoriously tricky. If there is a significant change we will update this section before the next full weekly snow report.
Les Arcs is offering good spring skiing, with the best conditions above 2000 metres where the snow remains consistent throughout the day. Plan early starts for lower runs and follow the sun upwards as the day progresses. The higher sectors continue to provide the most reliable skiing over the coming days.
