Les Arcs has a calm, settled winter feel this week with clear views across the Tarentaise and a solid blanket of snow on the upper mountain. The villages are busy but not hectic, and the season feels properly established now rather than tentative. Conditions on the slopes are consistent, and there is a noticeable confidence among skiers spreading out across the different sectors without feeling limited by coverage.
Snow and Weather Summary
Snow depths in Les Arcs are currently around 40 to 70cm at resort level, rising to approximately 160 to 210cm on the upper slopes. There has been a small amount of snowfall over the past week, mainly freshening the surface higher up rather than adding much depth lower down. Temperatures have stayed cold, with freezing levels mostly below 1000m and daytime temperatures in the villages hovering close to zero. Winds have generally been light, though slightly stronger on exposed ridges at altitude. Skiing conditions are best above mid mountain where the snow remains cold, packed and reliable, especially on north facing terrain. Lower runs are firm early on and soften gradually through the day, particularly on sunnier slopes, but main routes remain well covered.
