What's On in Les Arcs August 2018
All the outstanding events and activities in resort this month
It's the height of summer in Les Arcs, and that means a bumper events calendar for August.
As things heat up in the resort, so does the schedule of activities for the area. With too many to mention, here is a quick rundown of some of the best you can expect for the coming month.

Night-time Bike Race, August 10th
La Nocturne des Ruelles is a night-time relay mountain bike race through the streets of nearby Bourg St Maurice, which is open to all levels of rider, young or old. The course of around 1km is full of pitfalls and competitors race in teams of two to complete as many laps as they can in an hour (or half an hour for the children's race). There will be a junior race (10 to 16) at 18:30, and an adult's race (from 17 years old) at 20:00. Register from 17:00 with prize giving around 21:30.
CycloCoeur Cycle Race, August 12th
Every summer Les Arcs hosts the Cyclocoeur, a MTB and road bike competition open to all. With uphill, downhill, and cross country routes available, there is something for everyone, enabling you to explore Les Arcs' extensive biking trails whilst raising money for disabled people in the area.
Trail Running Event, August 29th
An event in the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc, the Traces des Ducs de Savoie is an epic trail running endurance race which sees competitors heading 120km from Courmayeur in Italy, through Bourg Saint Maurice, and on to Chamonix to finish. It's one of the toughest trail running races there is, with 7250 positive elevation gain along the route. Runners leave Courmayeur at 07:00 and reach Bourg by around midday. The fastest competitors make it to Chamonix that same night, with the slower ones arriving the next day.
Agricultural & Mountain Fair, August 19th & 20th
The Agricultural & Mountain Fair is a yearly exhibition by local producers and farmers. Enjoy some of the region's speciality music and art, with a mini farm for the kids, Cor des Alpes (Alp horn) music, face painting, goats, cows, and folk music. Discover how Beaufort cheese is made, try local Savoyard dishes, watch slackliners, or take a trip on the Ferris wheel. There's plenty of entertainment for all the family during this two-day event in the centre of Bourg Saint Maurice.
