A calm week with sunny skies
We’ve enjoyed a stunning bluebird week here in Les Arcs, following last Friday and Saturday’s snowfall. Since then, the sun has shone brightly, bringing clear skies and cold temperatures, making for some fantastic days on the slopes. Nights have been crisp, with temperatures staying below freezing above 2000m.
Upcoming weather in Les Arcs
Tonight will be the chilliest of the next few days, with temperatures dipping to around -7°C. For the most part, we’re expecting it to stay below freezing at higher altitudes with generally dry conditions and light winds.
Light snow showers which will likely be drizzle below 1500m are forecast for Saturday night and Sunday morning in Les Arcs, but won’t amount to much.
A high-pressure system sitting just north of the Alps will extend over the weekend, bringing slightly milder air. This will cause the snowline to rise during the day, though cold nights and early mornings will persist. Thanks to these conditions, resorts can continue to run snow cannons on lower slopes, maintaining the excellent snow quality.
Looking ahead, Monday and Tuesday promise more of the same dry, calm, and sunny weather, with temperatures cooler than the weekend. While precipitation isn’t expected until at least Thursday of next week, predicting this far out is not very reliable.
