Must See Towns & Villages in Les Arcs
Les Arcs is a series of purpose-built mountainside resorts linked to the principal town of Bourg Saint Maurice (altitude 800 metres).
There is one main road leading from the valley floor up to Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950 and Arc 2000.
Bourg Saint Maurice is also connected directly to Arc 1600 by a funicular railway, which takes around seven minutes to ascend and runs throughout the summer and winter seasons.
At the westernmost side of the mountain, you will find the twin villages of Plan Peisey and Vallandry (alt. 1,600m), which connect to La Plagne via the Vanoise Express gondola, making Les Arcs into half of the huge Paradiski area.
On the eastern side sits Villaroger (alt. 1,200m), the terminus for the epic Aiguille Rouge ski run in the winter and a staging point along the, similarly lengthy, Route 66 mountain-bike trail in the summer.

Les Arcs Star Trail, Arc 1800
Want to run in the fresh groomed snow at night during your winter sports holiday? This beautiful course is 11km long and has over 600m of vertical ascent through forests and snowy slopes. It takes place on the pistes between Arc 1800 and Arc 1950.
