Les Arcs 1800
The biggest of the Les Arcs resorts with activities to suit all ages and tastes
Arc 1800 truly has it all. Consisting of four intertwined high-altitude villages, it gives superlative access to the pistes and trails of Les Arcs whilst featuring a large number of stand-alone attractions, great nightlife and a well-populated annual calendar of events.
The pedestrianised centre of the resort is roughly split into Le Charvet and Les Villards, although it is not a long walk from one end to the other. Arc 1800 has expanded more than the other resorts and there are separate developments, such as Edenarc in the higher Chantel quarter and the Mercure hotel in Charmettoger towards Peisey-Vallandry. As a ski resort, Arc 1800 is very central and it is possible to ski to each of the other Les Arcs villages (except Villaroger) following a single trip on a chairlift or gondola.
As the largest resort, Arc 1800 has the most attractions, events and facilities for holidaymakers. The modern Mille 8 sports complex offers multiple activities depending on the season, including sledging, swimming, mountain karting and boardercross. Elsewhere in the village you can traverse adventure parks built in the trees, play laser tag, go ten-pin bowling, take in a round of golf and much, much more.

Sights & Attractions in Arc 1800
The Transarc gondola ascends from Arc 1800 up to the Col de la Chal (at 2,545m altitude), providing pedestrians, skiers and mountain bikers quick access to the views, trails, slopes and tracks above Arc 2000. However, at 1,800m there is no such thing as a ‘bad’ view on this side of the mountain and there are many exceptional places to stop and have a picnic, including the purpose-built public barbeque at Mille 8.
Dining in Arc 1800
Arc 1800 has a good selection of restaurants, although a few of the best ones are hidden just out of sight. Le Chic Mama, just past the pharmacy on the upper level of Le Charvet, is a traditional restaurant with a difference. It has ecological credentials, catering for vegetarians and vegans whilst serving a variety of organic wines. At the other end of the resort, at the top of Les Villards, Le Dream Spot is worth your visit. Their cheese fondues and 'miche' (an individual fondue served in a loaf of bread) are excellent and sensibly priced. If you are looking for something a little simpler, the Pizz’Altitude takeaways (one in Le Charvet, one in Les Villards) are good value for money.
